Winter readiness starts before the first surface report
A runway condition report captures an observation. Winter operations also need a current plan, ready equipment and materials, and a record of what the team did during the event.
The Snow & Ice workspace within Field Conditions connects preparation, response, and closeout to the airport’s recorded program applicability.
Prepare the program, then document each snow event
Record applicability and the plan
Keep the airport’s applicability decision and basis. Build the controlled plan or upload an existing PDF, record approval evidence, and activate the effective version.
Verify equipment and material readiness
Maintain equipment by function and materials by type. Record standing, stock levels, and verification so shortages and unavailable equipment remain visible.
Run the snow event
Record weather, priorities, and equipment or material actions by surface against the active plan. Link inspections, FICON reports, and condition records.
Close with supporting records
Retain the final FICON, dissemination evidence, after-action record, and disposition of actions before closing the event.

Does every airport need this program?
Applicability is recorded per airport. Undetermined, not applicable with a basis, and applicable are distinct states.
Can we bring an existing plan?
Yes. Upload an existing PDF or build a plan in Glidepath, with controlled versions and recorded approval facts.
Does closing an event publish a NOTAM?
No. The airport uses its authorized notification channels and records dissemination evidence in Glidepath.
