A construction job touches every part of the airfield picture

One taxiway project brings design reviews, phased closures, cranes, NOTAMs, waivers, construction checks, and a long list of people to tell at every change. Spread across email threads and binders, the job is hard to brief and harder to hand over.

Construction gives each job one page that everyone in Airfield Management sees, one shared map of what is closed and where the cranes are, and a log of what happened.

From design review to warranty walk

  1. Open the project

Record the job in design, planned, or under construction, with the CE project title and number. The CE number is the job’s number on every list, PDF, and Events Log line.

  2. Work the design steps

Track each design review with its expected package, Airfield Management’s comments, and the conference, then mark design complete when it finishes.

  3. Map the phases and closures

Draw work areas, closed pavement, haul routes, and cranes on the project map, with an instant check against the airfield surfaces. Each phase keeps its closure times and linked NOTAMs.

  4. Record who was told

Every change to the closures brings up the project’s notification list with Told and N/A on each name, and writes a line to the Events Log.

What it automates

Needs attention, soonest first

A penetrating crane, a closure with no NOTAM, an overdue check, or people not yet told surface in one list.

A shift brief in one click

Build plain text of what is active, closed, up, and starting in the next 7 days for the shift change.

Packages ready to print

Construction notices, project and status reports, the construction waiver package, and the AOB briefing come from the job’s own records.

Straight answers

Does Construction store our drawings and plans?

No. Drawings, phasing plans, and meeting slides stay where the base keeps them. A project, a design review, and a meeting each keep links to them.

Will it stop a status change if a list item is open?

No. Every list line and reminder has an N/A that records who marked it and when. Start work lists what is still open and asks, but never blocks.

Who can edit a project?

Managers create and edit projects. A manager can also name editors who change one job as a manager would, without creating projects or changing program setup.

Do closures show elsewhere?

Yes. Closed pavement in the current phase draws on the Common Operating Picture, and a read-only Construction projects card can sit on the Airfield Status board and kiosk.
